Ep. 6 – Cyn & Jonathan: The Misadventures (and the Muse)

Love and Hip hop Jonathan with founder Fleur Childs at secret location Artful Bachelorette studio

They say the show must go on… and let me tell you, I’ve never felt that phrase harder than the day we filmed this wild, wonderful episode with Cyn Santana and Jonathan from Love & Hip Hop.

I’ll set the scene. The night before the shoot, I found out my boyfriend at the time had betrayed my trust and cheated on me. Classic. No sleep, mascara-stained pillow, and a heart doing full-blown Cirque du Soleil. But there’s no heartbreak hiatus when you’re the boss of n*ked drawing parties. So, I put on my fake nails, brushed off the tears, and showed up to be the best damn Artful boss I could be.

And then—magic.

Cyn Santana, goddess and glowing in her energy, surprised her bestie Jonathan with a private figure drawing experience at our secret studio location. They walked in and instantly lit up the room like two glitter bombs of joy, sass, and mischief. And me? I found myself laughing for the first time in a week.

Jonathan had us screaming from the start.

I said, “Let’s warm up with a ‘Straight Lines Only’ drawing…” Without missing a beat he deadpanned, “There’s nothing straight about me.” We lost it. Absolutely lost it. Cyn had to sit down.

They named our stunning muse Gabriel’s ahem lower region “DABE.” Yes, DABE. (Short for “Da Baby” maybe? Honestly, I blacked out from laughter.) At one point Jonathan offered to walk him. Jonathan said “, I don’t think I have enough paper to draw him!” Cyn was crying-laughing. I was crying-laughing. DABE was just... vibing.

But here’s the real tea: Despite being reality stars with cameras on them, these two were warm, funny, generous, and real friends. During the break, we chatted about life, love, healing, and, of course, drawing butts with heart. They brought such a refreshing energy—none of that tired reality show negativity. Just two besties being silly, supportive, and actually having fun.

This episode reminded me why I do what I do. Even on your worst day, when your heart feels like roadkill, laughter and art can lift you out of it. Cyn and Jonathan—thank you for being a rainbow on my rainy day.

It’s honestly one of my fave TV moments of all time. Do yourself a favor and watch the full episode here:

Up next… Drew Barrymore.

Stay tuned.
